# Pre-Requisites

Before you start, your environment should meet these requirements.

## System requirements

| Requirement | Recommendation                               |
| ----------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| Shopware    | 6.7.0.0 or newer                             |
| PHP         | 8.2 or newer                                 |
| Permissions | Administrator access to the Shopware backend |

## What you should bring

* **Products** that should be configurable. The configurator is assigned to individual products (variants inherit the assignment of the main product).
* **An idea of your form.** Think about which details you need from the customer (e.g. dimensions, colour, material, engraving text) and which of them affect the price.
* For price-effective configurations: the **dimensions and prices** of your products and options.

## No technical knowledge required

The configurator is operated entirely in the Shopware backend. You need neither theme adjustments nor programming skills. Only the optional [formula](/en/plugins/product-configurator/admin-dashboard/formula.md) benefits from a bit of logical thinking – we explain it step by step with examples.
