Save and share

Some configurations don't happen in one go: the customer wants to think them over, coordinate with someone or repurchase later. With Save & share they can secure their setup and call it up again via a link.

Enable the feature

The feature is off by default. Enable it in the plugin configuration via Save configuration – per sales channel.

How it works for the customer

  1. The customer assembles their product on the product page.

  2. They click Save configuration.

  3. The shop generates a shareable link that the customer can copy.

  4. When someone opens this link, they land back on the product page – with all values pre-filled.

This way configurations can be conveniently passed on by e-mail or messenger, coordinated within a team or stored as a "shortlist" for later.

Change a configuration from the cart

If a configured line item is already in the cart, the customer can reopen and adjust it: they are taken back to the product page with their previous input.

Automatic cleanup

Saved/shared configurations are stored in the database. To keep it from growing indefinitely, a background task removes old entries automatically. You set the retention period in the plugin configuration via Days after which shared configuration data is deleted. The value 0 means: never delete.

Data protection

  • What is stored are the entered values of the configuration plus the product reference.

  • If a customer is logged in, the configuration is linked to their account.

  • Via the retention period you control how long this data is kept.

Enable the feature specifically where configurations are complex and need coordination (e.g. B2B). In simple scenarios you can leave it off to keep the buying process lean.
